About the Event

Within the scope of City of Peace Tokat project, "Traffic and Courtesy Training" was organised for drivers in Erbaa and Niksar districts of Tokat. Şahabettin Akca from Tokat Governorate made the opening speech of the project at the event. Akca shared the purpose and objectives of the City of Peace project and the results of the field studies carried out within this scope. In addition to the activities such as disaster training, first aid, family communication, home accidents, environmental health, healthy nutrition, narco-guide, values, courtesy, financial literacy, employment and vocational training, e-commerce, cyber security and food safety, he also mentioned the training plans to be presented to the participants.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Erdem, while explaining the ways to turn negative situations in traffic into positive ones, emphasised that misunderstandings, tolerance and understanding in traffic can be increased by changing people's perspectives and the meanings they attribute to events. Erdem stated that the participants have the chance to protect their lives and the lives of their loved ones by participating in this training.

Dr Senai Demirci gave an impressive talk on peace and happiness in traffic. He explained the importance of seat belts, the problems caused by high speeds and speeding, and the problems caused by flashing lights exceeding the speed limit in a sincere chat environment with various metaphors. Demirci emphasised the importance of not only fining but also rewarding positive behaviours in traffic and drew attention to the inner peace that voluntary compliance with the rules would bring to drivers.
